According to the former president, the 2024 election will be the most significant in American history.

According to former US President Donald Trump, reelection would be the nation’s last chance to reverse its precipitous slide.

“Our nation is headed for disaster. In an interview with journalist Megyn Kelly for the SiriusXM satellite radio channel, which aired on Thursday, President Trump declared that “Our country is going down.”

He declared that the 2024 presidential election is “the most significant election we’ve ever had” because the US “has one last chance.”

The former president confessed that he had made a similar claim regarding his 2016 presidential victory, but claimed that the election the next year would be even more significant.

Under the Biden administration, he asserted, “Our country is going bad, our country is being destroyed” and added, “We’re a nation in serious decline, and I think I can turn it around very fast.”

Kelly questioned Trump’s level of fear on the possibility of going to jail given that he is now charged in four different cases.

The Republican candidate responded, “I have a terrific attitude, it doesn’t impact me at all because I’m fighting for the country, I’m fighting for the people.

The 77-year-old claimed that because the public is aware that the accusations are “false,” the “good” polling results give him confidence that he will “win the election regardless of what happens.”

According to a survey released on Wednesday by Quinnipiac University, 62% of Republican voters want Trump to be their party’s nominee in 2024. The poll also revealed that Trump currently trails Joe Biden, the sitting president, by just 1%.

Trump reaffirmed his prior assertion that he doesn’t think Biden will run for office again in 2024 because of the 80-year-old’s ostensibly declining health.

He remarked of Biden, “I watched him yesterday, he couldn’t put two phrases [together], he can’t talk. “It’s a competence thing, not an age thing.”

In an August Wall Street Journal poll, 73% of US voters said they believed Biden was too elderly to run for re-election, while only 36% said he was mentally capable of carrying out his duties.

Biden is made fun of by Trump for his ‘electric tanks’
Trump’s age, which is just three years younger than Biden’s, is reportedly a concern for many Americans as well. According to a June NBC survey, 55% of respondents were worried about his physical and mental wellbeing.
