Many parts of the town are facing difficulties in accessing water for their daily needs, forcing residents to rely on water vendors known as ‘mai ruwa’ for their water supply.
Those who can afford it purchase water from these vendors, while others have to travel long distances in search of water.
The situation is particularly dire in areas like Tunga, Sauke Kahuta, London Street, Anguwan-Daji, Bosso, and Maikunkele, where the cost of a truck of water ranges from N700 to N1,000.
Residents are facing challenges in cooking, bathing, and maintaining hygiene in their homes due to the scarcity of potable water.
They are calling on the state government to intervene and ensure access to clean water to prevent the outbreak of water-borne diseases.
The uncertainty surrounding the sources of water from vendors further exacerbates the situation.
People are suffering and struggling to find water for their basic needs, emphasizing the importance of government intervention in providing clean and accessible water to its citizens.
