Five accomplices of terrorists have been captured by Operation Hadarin Daji troops in Daudawa village, Faskari Local Government Area, Katsina State, together with N19.5 million in their hands.
This was said by Maj.-Gen. Musa Danmadami, Director of Defence Media Activities, on Thursday in Abuja during the biweekly briefing on military operations nationwide.
During a stop-and-search operation on Nov. 17, according to Danmadami, the suspects were also the subject of vehicle recovery and the recovery of five mobile phones by the military.
On November 20, he said, the army also killed three bandits in Yambuki village in the Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara while others escaped after being shot.
91 NATO link rounds in 7.62mm, 30 rounds in 7.62mm special, 2 AK-47 rifles, and three motorbikes were also found, according to Danmadami.
He stated that while travelling from Zaria to the hamlet of Damari in the Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of Zamfara, troops also detained a man who was believed to be a gunrunner and had 269 rounds of 7.62mm special in his hands.
“As a result, between Nov. 17 and Nov. 30, troops found five Dane guns, 332 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and eight AK-47 rifles.
“During the period, troops evenly neutralized 11 bandits, detained 10, and saved 9 citizens.”
The enclave of infamous terrorist commander and gunrunner Malam Illa was struck on November 18 in Manawa village in the Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara, according to the defence spokesperson.
“It was established that seven terrorists were eliminated following the air attack on the spot while Mallam Illa and some terrorists narrowly fled with serious injuries,” he claimed.
Danmadami said that on November 28, Operation Safe Haven troops in the North Central region captured a suspected gunrunner with five locally made AK47 weapons stashed away in a bag at Gidan Ado in the Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau.

Additionally, he reported that during combat patrols to the communities of Kwazaye, Shelena, and Ukande in the Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue, Operation Whirl Stroke troops detained five suspected criminals.
He said that after the culprits were apprehended, it was discovered that they were foot troops for infamous bandit Iorkoso Tyopaha, who was active in Kaamen village.
Additionally, four alleged bandit informants were detained at Sankara Junction in the Benue local government of Ukum.
“Equally, on November 23, military soldiers working with Nigerian Police officers detained a suspect who owned an AK-47 weapon and a handgun hidden inside his car in Apo Mechanic Village, Abuja Municipal Area Council.
“Also, troops conducted combined raid operations with other security agencies at Guzape, Apo, and Area 1 District in Abuja Municipal Area Council.”
He said that approximately 200 bikes were collected and destroyed during the operation and that the raid resulted in the arrest of 21 suspected criminals.
Danmadami said that during the weeks under discussion, the forces had detained 54 criminals, neutralized three criminals, and rescued nine people.
