In advance of the elections next year, the New Nigeria People’s Party’s (NNPP) presidential candidate, Senator Musa Kwankwaso, has denied any plans for the party to join with other political parties, claiming that some discredited politicians are behind the rumour.
A few times after addressing NNPP members at the party headquarters in the nation’s capital, he interacted with reporters in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
That is complete nonsense, Kwankwaso remarked. As you can see, we don’t think we are better than the other three or four parties in this nation, but with God’s help, the NNPP will prevail in all elections by 2023, the next year.
“So, they are ex-politicians who have nothing to say to Nigerians other than to spread unfounded merger rumours.
“Merger already vanished. Our candidates are here. Everyone is running for office at all parties. Therefore, ignore that foolishness.
“Don’t ask me such crap,” he retorted when asked if he would resign for any contender.
If elected, the NNPP presidential candidate promised to recruit one million more soldiers to reinforce Nigeria’s armed forces.
He continued by saying that his government would support citizens’ access to education at all levels and give youth and women’s empowerment top priority.
Olaposi Oginni, the State Chairman, claimed that “only lunatics will vote for APC” in the upcoming election.
He claimed that no Nigerian is anticipated to vote for the ruling party in 2023 due to the severity of the sufferings and the dire state of the economy under the APC government.
