Seven ladies in total perished on Wednesday when a passenger bus caught fire along the Sagamu-Benin road.
Seven others were hurt in the single crash, and the victims were so badly burned that they could not be recognised.
It was discovered that a Mazda bus with the licence plate AGL 886 YD was involved in the collision at the Odogbolu intersection of the highway in Ogun State.
According to reports, engine oil spilling onto the highway caused the 15-seater bus to burst into flames.
Babatunde Akinbiyi, the PRO for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), has confirmed the event.
He said that the accident involved worshippers travelling to Epe from the Kosofe Area of Lagos State and happened at roughly 2:50 p.m.
Akinbiyi claimed that in order to ring in the year 2023, they will hold a church revival.
The remaining 14 female adults, according to Akinbiyi, were either killed or burned, with the exception of the driver, who was unharmed.
According to him, there were 15 people on the commercial bus, seven of whom died from their burn injuries, while the other seven were transferred to the Ijebu-Ode General Hospital for treatment.
