The Navy has set MV Cecelia Imo on fire after it was seized by Nigerian Navy personnel.

Over 300,000 litres of crude oil products that had been illegally processed were also burned together with the ship in the middle of the ocean.

According to OBASANJO NEWS24, crew members from the Nigerian Navy Ship Pathfinder oversaw the operation.

In connection with the MV Cecelia Imo, a ship carrying 350 000 litres of illegally processed goods alleged to be Automotive Gas Oil, or AGO, joint operations of the Nigerian Navy had detained three individuals.

The NNS Commander, Commodore Desmond Igbo, also stated during the parade of the suspects that this is just the beginning and that everyone participating in the illicit activity—including the vessel owner, his suppliers, buyers, and anybody else connected—will be held accountable.
