The recent bandit attack in the middle of the night in Maru town, which resulted in the deaths of police officers, vigilantes, and other people, has been characterised by Governor Bello Mohammed as heinous, heartless, and a cowardly conduct.
In a statement, the governor’s special adviser for public awareness, media, and communications, Zailani Bappa, highlighted that the administration was aware of the bandits’ desperate endeavour at the moment to project superiority after they had just been depleted of strength.
The statement said, “This recent incident was very unfortunate, but it won’t stop the security officers from putting more pressure on the bandits until their illegal activities are stopped in their tracks.”
It was said that Governor Bello Mohammed put off his official duties in Abuja so he could go to Maru town, where the terrible attack happened, and show his condolences to the people who were hurt by it.
The statement stated that all residents are urged to strengthen their vigilance and awareness and report any suspicious people or movements around their neighbourhoods, even though the state government will still continue to provide the security operatives in the state with its full support.
