The BVAS failed to accredit Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State so that he could cast his ballot on Saturday at his polling location, Ward 9, Unit 7, Obio/Akpo Local Government Area.
The Presiding Officer, Agatha Abiokun, unsuccessfully fought to have his wife, Suzzet Wikefingerprint ,’s or face recognised by the BVAS.
But Abiokun begged the governor to hold off and said she had dispatched an INEC expert to fix the problem.
However, other electorates patiently awaited what would occur next.
In response, Wike expressed his disappointment and noted that INEC ought to have organised all of its resources earlier.
We are quite disappointed. INEC assured us that BVAS were operational and that they were prepared for the poll.
You can see the crowd here. Given how slowly the BVAS operates, I don’t believe the majority of people will be able to cast a ballot.
After spending around 25 minutes here, I was instructed to leave and return so they could fix the BVAS.
“We are very dissatisfied. What do you expect if a significant proportion of individuals are denied their rights? There will be temper tantrums, and anything might happen.
“INEC should have been fully prepared before informing the public that they are. Nowhere in the state is there violence, according to Wike.
The governor was still waiting for INEC to fix the BVAS when this article was written in order to exercise his right to vote.
