Rev. Father Isaac Achi of St. Peters and Paul Catholic Church was brutally murdered by armed bandits along Daza Road in the area, and enraged teenagers from Kaffin-Koro, Paikoro local government area, are said to have burned down the police station in protest.

When the shooters stormed his home on Sunday morning at around 3 a.m., it was said that the youngsters were enraged at the police’s failure to act quickly enough to the public’s screams for assistance.

The police outpost and automobiles were burned during the protest, according to information obtained by the Daily Post, and some people also suffered various degrees of injuries.

When the bandits were unable to enter Rev Achi’s home, his house was set on fire, and the priest died in the ensuing conflagration.

Even though the state government is saddened by what happened, no one has the right to break the law for any reason, said Emmanuel Bagna Umar, the state commissioner for internal security and humanitarian services, who confirmed what was going on in the area.

The commissioner said that the state government will not let anything get in the way of law and order because it is working hard to protect the safety of people and their property in the state.

“Since the event on Sunday, you have witnessed the dedication of the government,” he claimed. “Therefore, we are asking communities to support the government in suppressing the state of bandits and not to take a side by vandalizing government property.”

He insisted that violence has no place in our communities because we are aware of the trends and times we are living in. No one in this land has the right to impose rules on others. We will pursue whomever attempts to impose rules on others in the same manner that we pursue bandits because it is our duty to safeguard everyone’s lives.

Umar also said that a security team had already been sent to Kaffin-Koro to check out the situation and figure out why the teens were acting so violently recently.

Additionally, the state police public relations officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, stated that furious youths in the region burned down the local police station since there had been a slow response to saving the Catholic priest.

Since the Rev. Father’s home is approximately a kilometer from the police station, they are upset that the police were able to save him in time. When they spotted the police approaching, they had already fled the area before they could mobilize and make their way to his location to confront the attackers.

“Another issue was that there was no water nearby to put out the fire promptly when the cops got there to save the priest,” he continued.
