Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, yesterday ruled out Peter Obi’s prospects of winning the presidency in the next election on behalf of the Labour Party (LP).

He claimed that Obi is not even one of the main contenders and would not win the election.

Insisting that Obi’s investments for the state lacked value, Soludo maintained by his assertion.

The governor argues that Obi would only erode support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a post titled History beckons and I will not remain mute (Part 1).

In response to criticism of him for his Channel interview, Soludo took a shot at Obi and his fans.

The governor alleged “desperation and intolerance” on the part of Obi’s followers, calling their “effort to coerce everyone who expresses the tiniest of criticism is despicable.”

Soludo declared, “This is Hitler in the making. Insulting other ethnic and religious groups or demeaning others is definitely not the way to Aso Rock.

The Igbos’ future political and economic interests might be jeopardized if this is not stopped.

However, Soludo was urged to focus on leadership and leave Obi alone by the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council.

Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the council’s main spokesman, said in a statement that the council was shocked by the governor’s relentless attacks.

According to Dr. Tanko, Soludo is being sponsored and is working against the state he is in charge of.
He is attempting to discredit himself and the state of Anambra.

We find it incomprehensible that a man would be preparing his own grave.
It is utterly superfluous, in our opinion.

“His outburst is filled with a lot of jealousy.
There is a persistent misconception that no one can ever be from Igboland if it is not Soludo, however this is untrue.

“As far as we are concerned right now, Peter Obi is the preferred candidate, and in my opinion, Soludo should focus on creating Anambra State because he has the support of the Anambra people rather than taking part in a campaign he is not a part of.
He must deal with the government.

Soludo reaffirmed his stance over Obi’s use of public cash by saying, “Of sure, there is room for genuine argument about the logic or caliber of the investments.

People may disagree, for instance, about whether it is appropriate to use taxpayer funds to advertise a company in which they own stock in the name of “investment” or even whether the so-called “savings” are justified when there are dozens of schools without roofs or classrooms, local governments without access roads, or hospitals without doctors or nurses.

“Recently, a Bishop publicly requested that I try to build the “Ngige kind of quality roads,” claiming that Ngige’s roads were still in place whereas Peter Obi’s had washed away.
