The capital of Plateau State, Jos, has always been important to Nigeria’s political evolution.

A national convention for the Action Group, one of the main political parties of the First Republic, chaired by Chief Obafemi Awolowo, was held there in 1962.

Jos became a popular tourist destination for many excellent reasons, drawing visitors, businesspeople, and politicians of every hue and color thanks to the active participation of Plateau natives and descendants in national politics as well as the expansion and development of the Tin City.

The presence of federal lawmakers, including the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, as well as other federal lawmakers, including Hon. Yusuf Gagdi and former Speakers from different political parties, excited the state legislators, who were unable to contain their excitement, earning praise across the nation for its symbolism.

Following that brilliant move, Gov. Lalong, the Director General of the Tinubu/Shettima APC Presidential Campaign, plans to reestablish Jos as the nation’s political hub at a time when many believe it would be virtually difficult to organize any significant political event in the Tin city.

The main event is the APC presidential campaign’s official launch, which is scheduled for Tuesday at the Rwang Pam stadium.

Plateau State would host President Muhammadu Buhari, Commander-in-Chief and PCC Chairman, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, the party’s national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, as well as 36 governorship candidates, about 500 candidates for the National Assembly, 23 APC governor

No effort will be spared by Rt Hon. Ahmed Idris, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, to put on a fantastic event.
