The Italian Footballers’ Association (AIC) Player of the Year for the Serie A season 2022?2023 is Victor Osimhen.
The 24-year-old Nigerian took home the Gran Gala del Calcio in Milan on Monday night.
The prize was organised by AIC, the group that supports and defends professional football players in women’s football, Serie A, B, Lega Pro, and other leagues.

Osimhen was also included in the Serie A 2022?2023 top 11.
Stanislav Lobotska, Kim Min Jae, Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, and Alessandro Bastoni are also members of the team of the year.
Rafa Leao, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Nicolo Barella, and Hakan Calhanoglu complete the lineup.
Last season, Osimhen guided Napoli to their first Serie A championship in thirty-three years.
The Super Eagles forward became the first African football player to lead the league in scoring with 25 goals, making history.
He was selected as the eighth-best male football player in the world at the 2023 Ballon d’Or presentation. All other Africans on the list were outperformed by Nigerians.
In addition, Osimhen was the first Nigerian to be listed in the top ten of the Ballon d’Or.
Additionally, he was added to the 2023 CAF Footballer of the Year shortlist.
