The 2023 ideal energy preseason event has been abandoned by Remo Stars.
At the Remo Stars Stadium, the famed preseason competition is scheduled to get underway on Friday (today).
The Nigeria Professional Football League team declared their exit from the competition in a statement.
The Sky Blue Stars cited the little amount of time they had to prepare for the CAF Champions League qualifications’ preliminary round as justification for their withdrawal.
This month’s CAF Champions League opening round will feature a matchup between Daniel Ogunmodede’s team and Medeama SC, the reigning Ghanaian champions.
Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Champions League are Rivers United and Remo Stars.
