Over 70 alleged terrorists have been killed by Nigerian military forces during counterinsurgency operations in the region’s North-East.

Over 500 members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) have turned themselves in to the military, according to the defense spokesman.
“Troops apprehended 25 terrorists and 8 terrorist logistical suppliers while also neutralizing 40 terrorists. “510 Boko Haram/Islamic State of West Africa Province terrorists and members of their families, including 54 adult males, 164 adult females, and 292 children, surrendered to troops at different locations within the theatre of operations,” Danmadami said. In addition, troops freed 131 kidnapped civilians.
“All collected objects and suspects who were apprehended have been given to the appropriate authority for future action. In the same way that the captured terrorists and their families were profiled for further action, the terrorists who had escaped capture and members of their families were also treated medically.
The military has also reported the rescue of two of the Chibok schoolgirls who were kidnapped in April 2014, together with more than 150 other civilians, during separate military operations in the northeast.
