An individual who is accused of robbing people and stealing motorbikes from the state has been captured by agents of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun.

The suspect, Olamide Wasiu, 35, who was unveiled at the Amotekun office on Monday, was accused of working with his gang to steal more than 100 motorbikes in Ondo State over the course of three months.

The syndicate once operated throughout the states of Oyo, Ogun, and Osun, according to Chief Adetunji Adeleye, the state’s Amotekun Commander.

He stated that the suspect takes the motorcycles to his main customer on the Ilesha axis after stealing them.

“The degree of success in addressing the problem of security in Ondo State generally was credited to the cooperation with the security agencies and the media in the prompt distribution of information,” he stated.

“We had been following the syndicate, and we were able to capture the ringleader, who admitted to stealing more than 100 motorbikes from Ondo State in just three months.”

In addition, Adetunji stated, “We also have a rape suspect. When we searched his house, we found out that he had three guns. We are able to establish that he uses these guns to hire criminals, among other offences. We are rounding up our investigations and sending them to the competent court to begin their trial.”

“We also detained a group of kidnappers, including the ringleader, who admitted to the crime.”
