Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti, who is nominated for a Grammy, has explained why he made fun of comedian Ayo Makun, often known as AY, after his multimillion-naira mansion in Lagos was destroyed by fire.
He claimed that he made fun of the comedian for his ordeal because he made jokes about his run-in with the law, his time in jail, and even his portrayal of his daughter as a “dog.”
Kuti attacked AY, calling him “unfunny” and a “dry goat with a smelly mouth” to defend his actions.
He asserted that AY’s mouth smell was known to many in the entertainment world.

Kuti made the following statement while interacting with fans on Instagram Live: “They say I dey laugh Ayo Makun [AY] say him house burn.” You should follow me frequently since those who do so have told me that I went live on the day that Gangan’s house burned down.
“I was on live feed as the house burned and they attempted to put out the fire. Except, you know, when he [AY] used my daughter as a dog in his yeye skit video; he used my hardships as material for a joke. He made light of my struggles by making jokes. Beyond that, too. He essentially referred to my daughter as a dog in his pointless farce.
That dickhead modaf**ker. That mouth-smelling, arid goat. His mouth had an odour. Ask anyone working in the field, unless they are eager to tell you lies. He portrays my own daughter as a dog. That guy who beat his wife to get the house. I’m sure his kids have witnessed him hitting his spouse, thus no lady in his life will ever respect him.
