The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Rivers Governorship Campaign Council’s Director of New Media, Ms. Ibim Semenitari, has denied conspiring with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to rig the March 18 Governorship poll.

Semenitari referred to the claims of collusion with INEC and security forces to rig the Rivers election as false in a statement he made on Thursday in Abuja.

She claims that the PDP has continuously adhered to the laws and procedures governing the election process, and that there is no proof that they have engaged in any improper activity.

Even though the PDP had been the target of charges from the opposition parties in Rivers, she noted that the party had always maintained a positive attitude and kept gaining support.

She said that this was a follow-up to its confidence that it would triumph in the March 18 gubernatorial and state assembly elections.

She said that despite the bad news, the PDP has maintained an advantage over its rivals because to the assistance of some powerful state officials.

Semenitari noted that the PDP had been holding frequent campaign events and connecting with local communities, which had helped to maintain the party in the lead. Semenitari asserted that the PDP had established a strong grassroots presence.

Siminalayi Fubara, the PDP’s governorship candidate, has received several endorsements from various organisations, according to her.

She said that several competing parties dismantled their organisational structures in order to support him as the deserving candidate for the top position in the Rivers state.

She claimed that a big part of it was because of his lengthy history of fighting for Rivers’ advancement.

Semenitari continued, “His political philosophy, as well as his excellent leadership abilities, resonated with the people of the state.
