In Delta State, Mr. Omo-Agege is the opposition All Progressives Congress’s (APC) candidate for governor in 2023.

The incumbent Deputy Senate President hopes to succeed Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who is also the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) vice presidential nominee.

In addition, Mr. Niboro noted that “this is one tragedy too many, and our party is officially in mourning,” describing the deaths of the supporters as saddening.

He said that the campaign committee had agreed to stop all political work so that people could mourn the dead.

“We are presently collaborating with the pertinent government agencies and local communities to look for the missing.” While ensuring that the injured receive the finest care possible, we are also working to get in touch with the families and loved ones of those who have passed away.

“We have chosen to halt all future campaigns indefinitely in memory of the lost, missing, and hurt.” The Campaign Council will provide guidance on the next steps in the coming days and weeks, he added.
