Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in Bauchi has responded to a circulating story on social media claiming that seven of its staff members are among the 100 fake professors allegedly uncovered by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
In a press release from the University’s Directorate of Information and Public Relations, ATBU clarified that none of the seven individuals mentioned in the report are affiliated with the university.
The management of ATBU emphasized that the authenticity of the story itself is highly questionable and urged stakeholders to disregard it as a baseless fabrication aimed at tarnishing the university’s esteemed reputation.
