Tinubu casts his ballot in Lagos in the 2023 elections and declares, “I’m too confident of winning”

He told the press that “democracy is here to stay” in Nigeria.

At a polling place in Bourdillion, Ikoyi, Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, cast his ballot.

Together with other party leaders, Tinubu cast his ballot with his wife Remi.

Speaking to the media, he declared that “democracy is come to stay” in Nigeria and that he is “very confident of victory.”

The voting process, according to him, is “moving nicely” and “smoothly.”

The APC candidate responded to questions about voter participation by saying, “This is expected, we need a good turnout and that is the adoption and the commitment to democracy and the democratic process must take place.”

Tinubu responded, “I’m too certain,” when asked how confident he is in winning.

The APC’s nominee for flag bearer is one of the front-runners for Aso Rock. The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Atiku Abubakar, the Labour Party’s (LP) Peter Obi, and the New Nigeria People’s Party’s (NNPP) Rabiu Kwankwaso are among Tinubu’s top rivals (NNPP).

In many polling places across Nigeria, voting has already started as the 87.2 million voters with Permanent Voter Cards cast their ballots to choose a new president and members of the National Assembly.

In the 176,606 polling places that are dispersed throughout Nigeria’s 36 states and Federal Capital Territory, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials are present.
