The All Progressives Congress, which is now in charge of Lagos and is led by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is running for reelection on March 11.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has withdrawn from the debate for the state’s governorship candidates on ThePlatform.
According to Victor Oladokun, the debate’s moderator, the governor, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate running for re-election, opted out of the debate on Sunday because he did not want to share the platform with an unnamed competitor.
Over the weekend, it was claimed that members of one party opened fire on members of another party in Surulere, Nigeria, in broad daylight.
The moderator stated: “Governor Sanwo-Olu declared yesterday (Saturday) that the governor will be withdrawing from the debate because he won’t want to share the stage with a particular candidate, whose followers reportedly carried out the attack.” This episode has already gone viral.

Olufunso Doherty of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP), and Olajide Adediran of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are among those taking part in the debate.
In response to the accusation made against his party, Adediran said that his supporters will refrain from using any type of electoral violence while canvassing in the Surulere district of the state.
