Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Governor of Ondo State, has successfully secured the gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The announcement of his victory in the primaries was made by Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State, who served as the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee.
Aiyedatiwa emerged as the clear winner with an impressive total of 48,569 votes, making him the frontrunner in the race.
The declaration of the result came after a rigorous exercise that lasted for almost 48 hours, starting on April 20.
The Ondo APC governorship primary election was not without its fair share of controversy and tension.

Aiyedatiwa faced stiff competition from his closest rival, Mayowa Akinfolarin, who secured the second position with a commendable 15,343 votes.
However, Aiyedatiwa’s popularity and support among party members prevailed, allowing him to clinch the top spot.
Following closely behind were Olusola Oke in third place with 14,915 votes and Jimoh Ibrahim in fourth place with 9,456 votes.
The results of the primary election clearly showcased Aiyedatiwa’s strong mandate and the trust placed in him by the APC members in Ondo State.
