Niger Governor Restores NYSC Camp Structures Damaged by Rainstorm

In response to the destruction caused by the recent rainstorms in Niger state, Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has taken swift action by deploying both manpower and resources to renovate the damaged structures at the NYSC orientation camp.

The affected buildings include the multi-purpose hall, stores, clinic, security post, pavilion, and electrical poles.

This decision was made immediately after the swearing-in ceremony of the Corps Members in the 2024 Batch A stream II at the Permanent Orientation Camp in Paiko.

During the swearing-in ceremony, the Niger state NYSC coordinator, Mrs. Alidat Olayinka, highlighted the Governor’s approval of the renovation project, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring the comfort and well-being of the Corps Members.

She urged the Corps Members to maintain a high level of discipline and adhere to the camp rules and regulations.

Olayinka also stressed the importance of staying away from negative influences such as cultism and drug abuse, while encouraging the use of social media for positive purposes that promote national unity and development.

Additionally, Olayinka emphasized the need for the Corps Members to prioritize their security and report any suspicious activities to the camp authorities.

She also encouraged them to take advantage of the skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development programs available during their stay in the camp.

The Governor, Mohammed Bago, who was represented by the state’s commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Yahaya Ibrahim Gulbinboka, expressed the government’s commitment to supporting the renovation efforts and ensuring the successful orientation of the Corps Members.
