The Kano State Tricycle Association Forum (KASTAF) has committed to organizing its members to cast 500,000 votes for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, in the 2023 election.

The forum also promised to cast the same number of votes for Dr Nasiru Gawuna, the APC’s nominee for governor of Kano, in the state’s governorship election in 2023.

Alhaji Mansir Tanimu, the Forum’s chairman, made the commitment on Thursday while paying a courtesy call to Bappa Babba Danagundi, managing director of the Kano State Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) and director of the northwest support group for the Tinubu Campaign Council, in his office.

He said that the action was required to show the government that it appreciated its members’ issues being heard as well as the state government’s willingness to look into methods to assist them in growing their businesses.

“The main reason we are here today is to thank the state government for listening to our complaint about the recent ban and the promise it made to support our members with taxi cabs and buses to enhance their business without necessarily reducing their number and sending them out of business,” he stated.

He said that the Forum will provide Tinubu and Gawuna 500,000 votes each since the registered tricycle drivers can do so given that no tricycle rider has fewer than 10 passengers under him.

Therefore, if you take into account the total number of registered trike riders in the state, it’s feasible that they may cast even more ballots.

The tricycle drivers recently took part in the APC presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s one million-man road show, and he said that by doing so, they had demonstrated to the rest of the globe their support for both the party and the candidate.

He claims that as soon as the Governor gives them the go-ahead, they will have another demonstration.

Therefore, he praised their members for refraining from going on strike or staging a demonstration when the government forbade them from operating on several important highways in the city; he said that this was the reason the government paid attention to their complaint and overturned the decision.

Dan Agundi thanked the visitors for coming and promised them that the state government will help them in growing their enterprise.
