Samson Adedokun, a 45-year-old man residing in the Iyana-Ipaja area of Lagos, has been remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Centre by an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The court, presided over by Magistrate Mrs E. Kubeinje, did not allow Adedokun to enter a plea and instead instructed the police to send the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
The case has been adjourned until May 8 to await the DPP’s advice. Adedokun is facing a charge of defilement for allegedly sexually assaulting his 16-year-old daughter.

According to the Prosecutor, SP Kehinde Ajayi, the incident occurred on March 13 at 7pm in Adedokun’s house. Ajayi stated that the defendant forcefully engaged in sexual intercourse with his own daughter.
The case was promptly reported to the police, leading to the arrest of the accused.
The offence committed by Adedokun is in violation of Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015. The court proceedings will continue once the DPP provides their advice on the matter.
