A joint security taskforce operating in Zamfara State has successfully eliminated three bandit kingpins and their fighters, according to security expert Zagazola Makama. The bandit kingpins, namely Kachalla Mati, Jammo Baki, and a former police officer named Kachalla Yada, were targeted and neutralized by the security intelligence and the Militia Joint Task Force on April 26, 2024.

The operation took place in Tidibale in Gangara villages of ISA and Sabon Birnin LG Zamfara State. Jammo Baki was known for his dangerous and ruthless nature, even going as far as coercing the community into granting him a chieftaincy title.

Kachalla Yada, on the other hand, was responsible for training the bandits in weapons handling and engaging in illicit arms trafficking.

The elimination of these three terrorists is a significant setback for the bandits in Zamfara State and brings relief to the people of the North West region.

The collaboration between the Zamfara state government and the security forces, with the aim of eliminating bandits rather than negotiating with them, is proving to be successful.

One significant development in this effort is the recruitment of the Civilian Joint Task Force, also known as Askarawa, to target the bandits in their strongholds and hiding places.

The Askarawas, similar to their counterparts in the North East, are a major threat to the bandits due to their familiarity with the terrain and their knowledge of the bandits’ identities.

Over the past few months, the Askarawas have been able to capture and eliminate numerous bandits, as well as their informants and collaborators. Additionally, they have recovered a large number of stolen livestock and rescued several abducted victims.

As a result of the relentless military, air, and ground operations against the bandits, they have resorted to pleading for negotiations through social media videos.

Despite attempts by PlatinumPost reporters to verify the killings of these terrorists by the security forces, conclusive evidence has not yet been obtained at the time of this report.
