Nigerian artist Blackface asserts that no musician has denied allegations of stealing his songs, reigniting debates over intellectual property in the music industry.

Nigerian singer Blackface has stated that the idea he accuses his colleagues of stealing his intellectual property merely for amusement is misguided. He emphasized that none of those accused have denied committing the act.

He mentioned that many of his colleagues are borrowing from his songs because they really enjoy the vibe he creates.

He pointed out that they were doing it incorrectly by failing to credit him.

In a recent interview with TVC, Blackface expressed that his creative style often gets emulated by others. He mentioned, “People really enjoy my vibes and tend to borrow from them. I can’t blame them; if I weren’t me, I’d be doing the same.”

All my songs are being stolen because, once released, they become published works. Each song is registered; none are released without this step. When a song enters the public domain, it’s officially published. So ask yourself: was it out before your work?

“It’s not about whether I have concrete evidence or not. The fact is, the action itself is wrong. Numerous Nigerian artists have copied my songs, and those I’ve called out for it haven’t denied these claims even once. So, you can see there’s some truth in what Blackface is saying.”
