The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has told people he calls “false prophets” not to say that there will be violence and chaos before the general elections in 2023.
Sanwo-Olu also told Nigerians to ignore these kinds of predictions, saying that they usually come from Nigeria’s enemies.
The Governor gave a speech on Sunday at the 23rd Annual Thanksgiving Service, which was held in Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos and was sponsored by the First Family of Lagos State and the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Sanwo-Olu said that he had lived up to the high standards of Lagos State, and he asked the people of Lagos to keep trusting his government.
He said that his government had finished many important projects in each of the six pillars of the development agenda and added, “We have done everything we promised.”
Thanksgiving this year is special because it’s Nigeria’s general election year. “We are praying to God today for another peaceful and orderly transition of power, one that will resist the terrible prophecies of anarchy and violence that are spread throughout election seasons by enemies of our beloved country and false prophets,” he said.
