Authorities in Uganda are looking into a stampede that occurred at a New Year’s Eve event in Kampala, which claimed the lives of at least nine people, many of whom were children.
The fatal collision happened in front of the Freedom City Mall, which was the site of a New Year’s celebration. According to the police, the master of ceremonies urged guests to leave the venue around midnight to watch the fireworks show.

“After the show was over, there was a stampede that instantly killed five individuals and injured many more. When emergency personnel got on the scene, they took the injured people to the hospital, where nine people were later determined to have died.

He claims that of the two kids, one had advanced to grade seven and the other to grade six. “Their father allegedly took them to Freedom City,” Kimera claimed.
