German media reported that a shooter murdered at least seven people at a Jehovah’s Witness facility.
According to Hamburg police, they may have discovered the body of the shooter who killed numerous people during a shooting spree at a Jehovah’s Witness hall on Thursday.
Although various German media sites claimed that at least seven persons were murdered and another eight were injured, the police withheld information on the death toll. Uncertainty surrounds the shooting’s probable causes.
About nine o’clock local time on Thursday, shots were fired in the Gross Borstel neighbourhood. As soon as they got on the scene, officers gave the command to “take shelter immediately” and instructed nearby homeowners to stay inside while they looked for suspects.
Following the incident, Hamburg police stated that they had “discovered a lifeless individual at a community facility in Gross Borstel, which we suspect may be a perpetrator.”
Police “measures in the region are progressively being abandoned,” according to a statement, but it also stated that a thorough security check was being carried out to rule out the involvement of more culprits.

Prior to discovering the mortally injured victim, authorities first heard a gunfire from upstairs in the building, according to police spokesperson Holger Vehren. Vehren asserted that police did not need to fire their weapons and speculated that this may have been the shooter.
The Hamburger Abendblatt, a local news source, said that Jehovah’s Witnesses had assembled at the centre for their weekly Bible study session. The source further said that the emergency services were taking care of 17 victims of the incident who were unharmed.
Jehovah’s Witnesses is a global Christian organisation that was established in the US in the late 19th century and is well-known for its door-to-door evangelism. In Germany, it has a community of about 170,000 individuals.
