Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Roma with the club ninth in Serie A

Roma announced on Tuesday that Jose Mourinho has been dismissed as the coach of the team, stating that it was in the club’s best interest.

The decision means that Mourinho, along with his technical team, will be leaving the club immediately, even though his contract was set to expire in June.

The owners of AS Roma, Dan and Ryan Friedkin, expressed their gratitude to Mourinho for his dedication and hard work during his time at the club.

They acknowledged the positive memories of his tenure but believed that an immediate change was necessary for the club’s future. They also extended their well wishes to Mourinho and his assistants for their future endeavors.

Despite Mourinho leading Roma to victory in the Europa Conference League in 2022 and reaching the final of last season’s Europa League, the team has struggled this season and currently sits in ninth place in Serie A. Reports suggest that former Roma captain Daniele De Rossi could potentially replace Mourinho as the coach.
