Rivers State Governor Fubara pledges to remain humble and committed to serving the people, vowing that power will not corrupt him or lead to disgrace.

This occurred as Fubara promised to never participate in any activity that would cause disgrace to himself or those who have chosen to support him.

Fubara assured the leaders, elders, and key stakeholders of the state while hosting them at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

The elders had come to celebrate Fubara’s 50th birthday, as stated by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi.

Fubara stated, “I assure you I will remain the same Fubara you’re familiar with; power won’t change who I am. My commitment to God and my respect for others are values that will always be important to me, and I’ll continue upholding them.”

Power may change hands, but I’ll always be the Fubara you know. With your support, we will work towards achieving the Rivers State we all aspire to see. Even if it’s not entirely realized right away, we’ll set things in motion that guide us toward our vision for Rivers State with your continued support.

This is the one thing I can definitely promise you: I will not do anything or behave in any way that would bring disgrace to myself or to each of you who have chosen and are prepared to sacrifice everything for us.

“This morning is all about celebrating a birthday. It’s not the time to talk politics.”
