Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recycling of old politicians is a letdown.

On Monday, he stated this in response to Tinubu’s minister nominees.

According to DAILY POST, Tinubu delivered the names of his minister-nominees to the National Assembly last week.

Oguntoyinbo, who ran for governor of Ogun State on the NNPP platform in 2023, stated that Nigerians expected youthful and active ministers.

He claimed that the elimination of subsidies on petroleum goods had caused immeasurable misery for many Nigerians.

He urged Tinubu to quickly provide relief to Nigerians in need.

“As Ministers, we anticipate young and energetic Nigerians.” Tinubu’s cabinet is a letdown due to the recycling of elderly politicians.

“Nigerians needed committed, highly resourceful youths at this time, not the re-election of old and bemused politicians, the majority of whom did nothing tangible in the states they ruled for eight years.”

“President Tinubu has chosen the wrong people to work with.” The majority of the applicants for ministerial positions have been in government since 1999.

“First and foremost, you cannot continue to postpone the palliatives because your policies are biting hard on ordinary Nigerians,” he remarked.
