PDP NWC Officially Recognizes New Leadership in Rivers State

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP has acknowledged the newly appointed leadership in Rivers State, marking a significant political shift in the region.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has confirmed the new leadership of its Rivers State branch after a court dismissed the executive led by Aaron Chukwuemeka.

In a statement released on Thursday by Debo Ologunagba, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, the party officially acknowledged that Nname Robinson Ewor and his team are the legitimate leaders tasked with managing the affairs of the PDP in Rivers State.

Ologunagba stated that this decision is in accordance with the amendments made to the party’s constitution in 2017.

The NWC commended the court’s decision and called on party leaders, stakeholders, and members to collaborate with the Ewor-led executive to maintain unity, stability, and ongoing success for PDP in Rivers State.

The NWC also assigned the Ewor-led leadership with enhancing unity within the party, encouraging growth, and bolstering PDP’s standing in the state.

The statement from the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced that they have received, reviewed, and accepted the judgment issued by the Rivers State High Court. This ruling, under Suit No. PHC/2301/CS/2024, invalidated our party’s Ward, Local Government, and State Congresses held in Rivers State on July 27th, August 10th, and August 31st of 2024.

As a result of the Court’s judgment delivered on Monday, January 13, 2025, the NWC confirms that Hon. Nname Robinson Ewor will lead and manage the activities of the PDP Rivers State Chapter in alignment with the provisions set forth in the amended 2017 Constitution of the PDP.

The NWC praises the court’s decision, highlighting once again the PDP’s renowned commitment to transparency in upholding internal democracy, adhering strictly to the rule of law and party guidelines during Congresses and other activities.

The NWC urges all leaders, key stakeholders, members, and supporters of our Party in Rivers State and across the nation to collaborate with the Hon. Nname Robinson Ewor-led Rivers State Executive to maintain unity, stability, growth, and ongoing success for the PDP in Rivers State.

The NWC urges the Ewor-led Rivers State Executive to diligently foster unity within the Party in order for the people of Rivers State to keep benefiting from the significant achievements delivered by our effective governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara. This aligns with both PDP’s manifesto and policy objectives.
