In Ogun State, a young man named Akeem is being sought by police after it was claimed that he arranged for his fiancée to be sexually assaulted by his friend “Suleiman Olaniyi, an Eiye Confraternity member.”

According to the Ogun State Police Command, the victim stated on October 8 that her lover, Akeem, had scheduled a meeting with her at his friend’s residence in the Agbero Area of Ode Remo.

According to the girlfriend, who was quoted by Omolola Odutola, the police spokeswoman in Ogun, Akeem strategically left the room, and in an instant, “the owner of the room, one Suleiman Olaniyi, a member of Eiye Confraternity bashed into the room.”

She was reportedly told to lie down by the alleged cult leader because he “wanted to have carnal knowledge of her against her wish.”

As the woman shouted, neighbours were drawn to the sight and pushed the door open to save her.

Odutola claimed that although the suspect tried torn the victim’s pants, he was thwarted when the victim resisted him.

She was saved by neighbours who were drawn to her scream and forced the door open. Although her pants was torn, penetration was unsuccessful because of her resistance and eventual rescue, the woman said.

It was discovered that the suspects had since been detained, and searches for further cult members are still ongoing.

Abiodun Alamutu, the commissioner of police, has praised the victim for having the courage to report the crime.

Alamutu emphasised that any type of violence against women would not be tolerated by the command under him, and he urged women to report such crimes to the police so that offenders could be brought to justice.
