In the previous three months, the Ogun State Police Command detained 124 people for a variety of crimes.

In an interview with reporters at the police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, State Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu revealed this.

Since July, the Command and other security organisations, according to Alamutu, “have successfully apprehended a total of 124 suspects for various offences.”

Alamutu revealed that using reliable intelligence, the police had also found where criminals were hiding out. He also said that during operations, the operatives had found weapons on the offenders.

Alamutu told reporters while parading some suspects, “We equally recovered reasonable numbers of exhibits.”

According to the head of the police department, there has been a “remarkable decline in sundry cases of crimes” over the last three months.

He emphasised that, “apart from the recent cult related crisis/murder that engulfed Sagamu and we are closing in on the perpetrators,” Ogun State had seen a discernible decline in cases of kidnapping, armed robbery, land grabbing, and sexual assaults.

He told the people of Ogun that the Command, which he is in charge of, will keep the state uninhabitable for all criminal groups, particularly cultists and land speculators.
