BREAKING: JAMB Announces Shift in 2025 UTME Registration Date, Cites Key Reasons
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has rescheduled the 2025 UTME registration date, providing reasons for the change. Find out the new timeline and what it means for candidates.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will now begin on Monday, February 3, 2025, instead of Friday, January 31.
This information is included in a statement signed by Fabian Benjamin, the Public Communication Advisor for JAMB, on Friday.
This change is essential for the Board to implement crucial modifications to its registration templates. These changes are prompted by the recent suspension of certain law programs at specific universities, as reported to the Board by the Council for Legal Education.
Furthermore, the Board found that certain Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers had employed misleading tactics to gain approval. This has led to increased scrutiny and the closure of these centers as part of necessary corrective measures.
The Board recognizes the potential disruption this may cause to candidates and other stakeholders, and sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience.
According to the statement, the extra time will be utilized to guarantee that all essential modifications are implemented for a seamless registration process.
