A female inmate shares her extraordinary story of becoming pregnant with a ‘miracle baby’ during her time in prison, raising questions about justice and prison life.

In a strange and contentious case, an accused murderer in Florida has alleged that she conceived a child with another inmate without any physical contact.

Daisy Link, 29, presently held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center under suspicion of killing her husband last year, gave birth to a baby girl in June. She claims that Joan Depaz, 23, another inmate at the center, is the child’s parent.

Reports indicate that the two women formed a romantic relationship through conversations exchanged via their cell vents.

The alleged conception method involved an unorthodox approach of transferring semen through the air conditioning vents with plastic wrap and bedsheets. This unconventional act has garnered significant attention, prompting authorities to investigate the details surrounding this claim.

“After being isolated for so long, you start spending countless hours talking to this person. Eventually, it’s almost like you’re in the same room together,” Link shared with the publication.

Depaz, expressing his desire to become a father, allegedly sent his semen to Link. According to the same report, Link stated: “I wrapped the semen in Saran Wrap about five times daily for nearly a month.”

The two discovered that their jail cells were connected by an air vent.

Depaz explained, “I shared with her a method that one of my friends had taught me using the vent. The vent has an L-shape and connects directly to mine. She could toss a pen from her room into the vent, and it would end up landing right in my area.”

Link explained that she became pregnant using Depaz’s semen, which he would wrap in Saran wrap daily.

“He used to roll the semen up somewhat like a cigarette, attach it to the line we had in the vent, and I would pull it through,” Link explained. “After that, I placed it inside yeast infection applicators before administering it.”

At present, Link’s family is caring for the infant, whom he has described as “a blessing” and a “miracle baby.”

Depaz compared Link to “the Virgin Mary,” asserting that no physical interaction had occurred.

The two inmates remain in custody as they await their trials.
