I Found My Musical Talent While Working at Motor Park- Daddy Showkey

John Odafe Asiemo, well known by his stage name Daddy Showkey, is a veteran Nigerian musician who has disclosed that he found his musical calling while employed at a theme park.

This was revealed by the “Ghetto Soldier” singer in a recent “The Honest Bunch” podcast episode.

He recounted, “I was working as a ticketer in the motor park when someone told me I have a good voice and I should consider becoming a musician.”

“I was sceptical at first because I couldn’t sing, but after I gave it a try and saw that everyone enjoyed it, that’s how I became a musician.”

Regarding the dispute wherein up-and-coming musicians deny the influence of music icons on their professional triumphs, Daddy Showkey declared he had no desire to accept any recognition for having paved the path for such artists.

He went on to say that acknowledging it is up to the upcoming artists who have profited from his legacy.
