Helicopter crash in Ukraine: What is currently known

According to Ukrainian emergency services, a helicopter crash in a suburb of the nation’s capital, Kyiv, claimed the lives of at least 14 people, including the interior minister.

In the event on Wednesday, one youngster was among the dead, and 25 other people were hurt. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU), they were receiving medical care in a hospital. A local authority had previously reported 18 deaths.

Where did the helicopter go down?
In the northeastern suburbs of the Ukrainian capital, in the town of Brovary, the helicopter touched down at approximately 8:20 a.m. local time (06:20 GMT).

Videos posted on social media appeared to show a burning structure near the alleged crash site of the helicopter. In the video, yelling was audible from the audience.

The SESU helicopter, according to Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy head of the Ukrainian presidential office, was headed for front-line positions in the country’s east when it crashed.

Suella Braverman, the British Home Secretary, said of Monastyrskyy that he was “a leading figure in supporting the Ukrainian people during [Russian President Vladimir] Putin’s illegal invasion.”

She wrote on Twitter, “When we chatted in October, I was struck by his resolve, hope, and patriotism.”

While this was going on, German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser issued a statement in which she expressed her sympathies to the Ukrainian authorities and pledged Germany’s assistance in determining what caused the helicopter to crash.
