A non-governmental organisation called the Unity Advocacy Group (UAG) has praised the Armed Forces of Nigeria for applying increased pressure to terrorists and bandits across all operational theatres, leading to their surrender to troops.

This was said in a statement issued by the group’s convener, Mr. Ifeanyi Aigbedion, on Wednesday in Abuja.

Aigbedion claimed that forces’ pressure was the reason why insurgents frequently capitulated in different theatres.

He praised Gen. Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), for his strategy for battling insurgency, noting that things were improving.

He proceeded by saying that the various services have continued to cooperate amicably and successfully under the capable direction of the CDS.

He claims that the daily terrorist surrenders show that the pressure from the soldiers is working.

“UAG applauds the Nigerian Armed Forces for providing wise leadership under the command of General Chris Musa, Chief of Defence Staff.

“In the interest of the nation, we implore criminals, terrorists, and bandits to reconsider and give peace a chance.

“Once more, we call on Nigerians to support the Armed Forces of Nigeria as they continue to make sacrifices for peace and stability,” the organisation continued. (NAN)
