The resignations of the general secretary of the government, Haliki Choua Mahamat, and defence minister Daoud Yaya Brahim have been accepted by Saleh Kebzabo, the prime minister of Chad. After separate recordings reportedly showing both of them indulging in intimate acts with other individuals surfaced online, a major controversy that involved both men led them to decide to step down.
The representative for the prime minister’s office confirmed both resignations but offered no other information. The defence minister is silent about what happened.

According to Mahamat, he decided to resign in order to “preserve the integrity” of his position and out of respect for the Chadian government and people. He made this statement to the local media outlet Tchadinfos. Additionally, he emphasised the significance of protecting people’s privacy in the “digital age.” After that, the official urged “respect for all parties involved.” Tchadinfos claims that the general secretary and his wife could be seen in the leaked footage.
Some regional media sites claim that Brahim first tried to hide the affair. According to some media reports, the general may have been involved in the recent disappearance of two young ladies connected to the incident, while other reports allege that the National Security Agency (ANS) of Chad held both women. These reports have not been formally confirmed as of yet.
According to news reports, the concerned videos were posted on social media on Sunday and Monday and have since been widely shared. The majority-Muslim nation of Chad has traditional societal mores. According to Reuters, similar scandals have been uncommon in the African nation.
