Government of Borno prohibits street begging, wandering around in Maiduguri

Street begging and loitering are prohibited in Maiduguri and its surroundings, according to the Borno State Government.

The state’s commissioner for information and strategy, Prof. Usman Tar, said this in a public notice in Maiduguri.

According to Tar, the Borno people do not engage in street begging or pointless idling.

Street begging and aimless loitering are not in the nature of the people of Borno State. Ours is a noble race.

This is to alert the general public that the Borno State Government has strictly prohibited any street begging, loitering, and gallivanting in and around the Maiduguri Metropolis and Jere LGAs, he added.
