Former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has ventured into Nollywood, marking a surprising career shift from politics to the film industry.

Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, the former Minister of Women Affairs, has become a member of Nigeria’s movie industry, Nollywood.

A few months after President Bola Tinubu dismissed him, Kennedy joined Nollywood.

Reports indicate that Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye was appointed as a minister in August 2023 but was removed from the position, along with four other ministers, during a cabinet reshuffle on October 23, 2024.

The 51-year-old politician has turned her attention to filmmaking just four months after being removed from the cabinet.

The former minister announced her acting career on X by sharing a video of her latest project.

Kennedy, a lawyer and entrepreneur, became part of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015. In 2023, she made history as the party’s first female presidential aspirant but eventually withdrew her candidacy to support Tinubu.
