Nigerian singer Asake has officially announced his departure from YBNL and the launch of his own record label, marking a new chapter in his music career.

Nigerian music star Ahmed Ololade, better known by his stage name Asake, has officially separated from YBNL Nation, the record label founded by rapper Olamide.

Rumors about Asake’s departure had been circulating for months, but he put the speculation to rest by releasing his latest single, “Why Love,” under his newly established record label, Giran Republic.

This decision represents a major turning point in his career as he moves towards complete independence in the music industry.

Even after the split, it seems there are no hard feelings between Asake and Olamide. In fact, earlier this year he dispelled rumors of a fallout by honoring his former label boss with the release of “Military.”

Asake signed with YBNL Nation in February 2022 and swiftly gained prominence by releasing several chart-topping hits, establishing himself as one of Nigeria’s leading artists.

In July 2022, he landed a distribution deal with Empire, a collaboration that persists even after leaving YBNL.
