Erdoğan condemned the Western countries for their inaction or endorsement of Israel’s harm to innocent civilians in Gaza and called on Muslim and global nations alike to demand an urgent end to violence as well as assistance for humanitarian needs.

On Thursday, it is anticipated that Abbas will deliver a speech to the Turkish parliament.

Upon his arrival, Abbas was greeted by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Palestinian Ambassador Faed Mustafa. His speech is considered as Turkey’s answer to the contentious address of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the U.S. Congress.

He arrived at a time when the possibility of Iranian retaliation towards Israel following Hamas official Ismail Haniyeh’s assassination was stirring apprehension about an expanded war in the Middle East.
