EPL: Rooney Picks Best Player Among Gerrard, Scholes, and Lampard
The great Wayne Rooney of Manchester United has shared his thoughts on who of Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, and Paul Scholes is superior.
It’s a discussion as well-liked as the global football rivalry between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Rooney, who was positioned next to all three players, voiced his thoughts in response to inquiries on The Overlap.
Before revealing his choice, the new manager of the Plymouth Argyle dissected each player’s qualifications.

“Stevie is the best all-around player; he can defend, pass the ball, run, tackle, score goals, and set pieces,” he declared.
“From the perspective of scoring goals, Lamps [Frank Lampard] was the greatest. Although he wasn’t technically as good as Scholesy or Stevie, no one was more adept at scoring goals from midfield.
Scholesy was remarkable because of his ability to adapt. Neither Gerrard nor Lampard, in my opinion, could control a game the way he could.
They were all elite athletes. Stevie may become a star player and emulate Scholes at Manchester United. However, I doubt Scholes could match Stevie’s accomplishments at Liverpool.
