In the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) are intensifying their strike.
On Monday, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) Labour Committee, the Joint Union Action Committee (JUAC), closed the Minister’s Gate, the main entrance to the FCT Administration, preventing employees from entering.

Workers were observed floating around the gate while union leaders made sure that the “no entry, no going out” rule was followed.

Comrade Rifkatu Lortyer, the President of JUAC, promised that the action would not end until their demands were satisfied.

She gave the FCTA and FCDA employees advice to follow the guidelines and stay at home.

“You know, there has been a long-running battle over the minimum wage and the recently added electricity tariff,” the speaker stated. And up to this point, the administration has made a concession. We must implement the strike since it has been declared by the national organisations NLC and TUC.
Right now, there are security personnel at the FCTA and FCDA entrances.
