Nigerian comedian Basketmouth, also known as Bright Okpocha, has given an explanation for why he disparaged Wizkid despite appreciating Davido’s wedding’s social media impact.

Regarding the Backstage Banter exchange he had with Isi Ijewere during Basketmouth’s Canadian tour stop in Toronto, he clarified that his jab at Wizkid was merely “a marketing technique.”
Wizkid is my guy, he stated. That was a tactic used in marketing. However, I anticipated it would be tense.
“I anticipated that it would strike people. Even though I knew they would become irate, they carried out my instructions to the letter. It was successful.
