Bandits Raid Kogi University, Kidnap Students
A group of bandits carried out an attack on Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTEC) in Osara, Okene, Kogi State on Thursday night.
According to an eyewitness, the bandits arrived at the university around 9:00 pm while the students were studying for their upcoming exams.
The bandits entered three lecture halls and fired shots into the air, causing panic among the students.
They then proceeded to kidnap some of the students, trapping them inside the halls.

However, the quick response of local security guards and the conventional security men at the gate prevented further damage, as the bandits were unable to go beyond the first three halls.
The students, terrified by the incident, sought refuge in the nearby bush until it was safe to come out.
The Vice Chancellor of CUSTEC, Prof. Abdulraman Asipita, confirmed the incident but did not provide specific details about the number of students abducted.
The authorities are currently working to address the situation.
